Independence, American Values and God: Our Founding Principles and The Trinity of our existence

In the summer of 1776 a few great men met to discuss a radical idea; they had such faith in its righteousness that they pledged all they owned, their sacred Honor and in fact their very lives in support of this new idea. We now rely completely on this idea for, in essence, it has given us all we have now as well as what our fathers and families have reaped over the years. 

Now, this idea, an idea that eventually created a system who’s success is unparalleled in human existence, is under grave attack, by those who wish to usher in the American “Post Independence Era”.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” Proverbs 14:34

The idea our founders discussed in Constitution Hall that warm summer resulted in a document so profound and awesome the events it set into motion have been unequaled in over two centuries.

In my opinion, the essence of that document was the idea that man had specific rights that were part of Natural Law, and that these rights were given not by kings or any man, but by God himself and that no man or nation, however powerful, could usurp or remove these rights.

 

 

These rights are mentioned in the famous preamble that outlines the principles of the Declaration of Independence:

 

 

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…

 

The right to “Liberty” is being able to live free of Tyranny, once free from Tyranny we were able to create our Constitution. These God-given rights, along with our constitution that gave us rights to private property which is the basis of our capitalist system and its unequaled success.

But Capitalism was never designed to run free of American Values and God.  Under a Godless society the sin of gluttony and other sins distort the system and remove honesty and fairness, the glue that holds it in place.  This is what we are seeing now with an administration that wants to kill Capitalism, denounce our Christian and American Values and exhort those of Marxism.

American Values, some of which are comprised of equality, honesty, integrity, fairness and hard work are derived in part from our exceptionalism. American Exceptionalism refers to the theory that the United States is qualitatively different from other nations. Without a firm belief in this theory, especially by our leaders, our values and our culture are threatened.

American Exceptionalism would be impossible without our firm reliance on God and our Christian values. Despite speeches to the contrary, we are, and always have been a Christian Nation. Without our founder’s deep belief in God and Christian principles, they could not have even envisioned the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution.

Thus we have come full-circle in our trinity, the order does not matter, a stool with three legs cannot stand with one removed: Independence, American Values and God.

Now our Trinity, each part and in whole, is under attack by the liberals who prefer a Godless, Socialist- Marxist society, the kind that has been tried and failed. Incredibly they don’t believe in God or American Exceptionalism, in fact they deny it and look to the failed policies of Europe as models of achievement.

The liberals have been trying for years to remove even the mention of God everywhere they can find it, their goal is to remove God altogether from our society. Thus they have ushered in the most Godless, corrupt, anti-American, anti-Constitutional administration in history.

To this end they are trying to pass off the Founding Fathers as a bunch of old fools and the Constitution as a document of a bygone age that needs to be re-cast. They are attempting to create a new age of dependency, a Soviet-style dependency on government for everything. As hard as it is to believe, they are trying to replace God with government, that is God with themselves.  The American Post Independence Era.

Assisting them is the failure to teach history and our heritage to our students at an early age. Ronald Reagan warned us of this in the late 1980′s.

Today the enemies of Freedom and our way of life are legion. American Values are under attack by the very people assumed to uphold them.

“America was founded on pretty revolutionary ideas of inalienable rights endowed to all human beings by their Creator, of independence, of personal responsibility, of self determination, of morality as the basis of good government, of limited government, of the free market. The correctness of those ideas is borne out in the fruits of those ideas: a nation of unparalleled freedom, unique domestic tranquility, unmatched prosperity, and unequaled strength. So why would Americans of any stripe–the Left or anywhere else–loathe this obviously superior and remarkably blessed way of life?”
